British punter nets £2.6 million from lucky online roulette spin

Winning big is the ultimate allure of the online casino, with millions of players hitting the virtual tables and slots in hopes of being that one lucky player that everyone talks about. That player, for now at least, is actually 36-year-old British punter David Robson, a man who managed to turn a 90p bet on online roulette into a win of more than £2.6million.

Robson, a civil servant still living with his parents in Newcastle, hit a hot streak playing online roulette at an unnamed casino, according to The Sun. He momentarily stepped away to show his parents how well he was doing, and when he returned his final spin had made him a millionaire.

Naturally, the punter found his new fortune to be quite a surprise.

"I can’t believe it has happened," he told the news provider. "I looked away for a couple of moments and when I turned back it was flashing that I’d won £2,642,668.61. I couldn’t sleep a wink that night."

Though he has not quit his job, Robson has made some plans for how he will spend the money – including buying his parents a new house, and finally moving into one of his own.
