Caesars, 888 in talks to bring online casino to U.S.

One of the leading online gambling companies in the UK is making a push to expand into the United States. Bloomberg reports that 888 is in the process of applying for a license in Nevada and is talking with Caesars about the possibility of a partnership.

Although 888 may be the biggest name looking to expand overseas, it is certainly not the only one. Many states, including Nevada, California and New Jersey are looking at the prospects of legalizing internet gambling, and UK-based companies will be lining up.

Caesars, the largest casino company in the world, is excited about the prospect of working with 888 as well.

"We would love to do it with them," Brian Mattingley, the company’s deputy chairman told the news source, adding that 888 would decide on the possibility of an online poker license by the fall.

The possible deal highlights a growing push for online casinos to make their way to the states. Washington, D.C. was close to becoming the first area in the U.S. to allow them but has met some resistance.
