Difference between inside bets and outside bets while playing roulette

A beginner to roulette may think that the game is pretty simple. A dealer spins the wheel and if you are lucky, you get to go home with some extra cash in your pockets. However, there is much more to the classic and fun-filled game, and one of the most important factors of it is the betting,

Knowing how to bet while playing roulette may be the most imperative aspect besides setting a limit. Before any bet is made, the player should set a limit on how much he or she is willing to spend that day, and to never exceed it. Once that is established, it is on to betting and there are two different types – inside and outside.

Inside bets consist of a straight-up, which is on a single number, split is on two adjoining numbers, a street is on three numbers in a horizontal line, a corner is on four numbers or a six line, which is on two adjacent streets. Outside bets are smaller payouts but you have a better chance of winning. For these, you would bet on one to 18 getting selected or red or black getting picked.

Which do you prefer to bet on, inside or outside?
