ICON promises U.S. casinos online success

With some promising steps being taken by the government across the United States to legalize online casinos, many organizations are hoping to be first in line when it happens. The Independent Casino Online Network (ICON) is one such organization, which has said that it will partner with casinos to boost their online gambling profile.

Specifically, the ICON will be helping them build their online poker offerings. The group has long been a leader in the industry and even won the 2011 Poker Operator of the Year award thanks to its Gold Rush Poker game – the only American-based 3D poker website around.

"It is no longer the exclusive territory of the larger casino groups," ICON network director Donn Gunvalson said. "We are bringing together independent casinos and offering them the ability to share in our marketing campaigns and share in our profits."

The move by ICON comes after Nevada casinos began drawing up regulations in the anticipation of the legalization of the practice. The Associated Press reports that many of the rules deal with tax issues, but also puts a cap on the wagers poker players can make against each other.
