New online gambling regulations put in place in the UK

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding online gambling laws and regulations, as the ones that are put in place as of late are seemingly outdated. Now, lawmakers in the UK are attempting to change that by ensuring that players are protected while wagering on online roulette, poker, slots or other casino classics, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The major change is that all online gaming providers will have to register with the UK Gaming Commission, regardless of where they are located. Some providers are opposed to these regulations, as it requires them to pay more taxes. However, it could benefit and protect the player, the media outlet reports.

The U.S. is one of the only countries that is struggling to legalize online gambling, and one of the main reasons is because it is unable to establish a set of laws to protect players.

With these new regulations, do you feel safe playing on your favorite sites? Do you think there has to be more rules put in place or are the laws appropriate now?
