Poker continues rise in popularity

The popularity of poker has grown in leaps and bounds over the last several years, and now players are getting better and better at a younger age. Recently, one 18-year-old from Sweden became the youngest winner in World Poker Tour history.

Lukas Berglund, who hails from Uppsala, Sweden, won the event in May. As part of the evidence of the growing popularity of poker, the WPT Super High Roller $100,000 event had a substantial 29 people buy into the event.

There are likely a number of reasons for the rise in players, from celebrities getting involved to the prevalence of online casinos. However, one thing that likely trumps all is that everyone can win big regardless of the the timing.

"People are drawn to the reverie of the game – everyone thinks they can win big," said author and gambling expert Andrew McLean.

Whether players are looking to get in on some online roulette action or simply to play poker, they should check out the best choices. Experts say the best options are Club World Casino and Aladdin’s Gold.
