Roulette Movies

Roulette is a game that has many fans and it’s probably the most famous casino game. It’s probably because the game is easy to understand, yet there are many ways to play and on top of that it’s a game that’s always very exciting.

Most fans of the game also love seeing the game get played on TV, in movies or in TV series. It makes the movie just a little bit more interesting and you can almost feel the excitement just watching the game. In this article we will talk about three movies that feature a great roulette scene.

The first movie that we’d like to recommend is quite an old one. Casablanca is a true classic, released in 1942, and it has always remained popular. Even now, the movie is still in the IMDB top 10 movies.

In the movie a couple is stuck in Africa and needs to get exit visas in order to get to the US. The visas are rather expensive however and they decide to try their luck in the casino. They bet on the same number twice in a row and get ‘lucky’. In the end it turns out the game was rigged and thanks to the dealer they are able to go to the US.

Another popular movie that featured roulette is Run Lola Run. In this movie Lola has about half an hour to earn DM100.000. She goes to a casino with DM100, bets twice on a single number and ends up winning both bets. She ends up with an amount far higher than DM100.000 and all problems seem to be solved for the moment.

The last scene that popped into our heads when thinking about great roulette movies is the Russian Roulette scene in The Deer Hunter. The Deer Hunter is a 1978 drama film starring Robert De Niro and Christopher Walken. The movie takes place during the Vietnam War and it shows how several US soldiers are captures by the Vietnamese and put in a prisoner of war camp. In the camp the prisoners are forced to play Russian Roulette while their guards bet on the outcome.

We think these three scenes are the most memorable ones that we’ve seen in the movies. As always, if you’d like to add any scene yourself, post a comment and let us know!
