Don’t make beginner roulette mistakes

Even novice roulette players know that much of playing the game hinges on luck. While at its core this may be the case, there are certain betting mistakes more inexperienced players make that can make it more likely that they’ll end up losing money. The Post-Tribune recently shared a few pitfalls to avoid while playing.

Some players notice others at online casino websites placing bets on both red and black on the same spin. The thought process might be that since they are covering almost all the spot on the wheel, they can’t lose. While this might be true, they also can’t win since any spin will offset unless of course the ball lands on the 0 or 00, which will lose them all their money.

"For whatever reason they failed to understand if you bet on red and black, you’re defeating the whole purpose of choosing red or black," a reader emailed the newspaper about just such a practice.

There are number of different thought processes out there when it comes to betting, but one of the most widely followed is the so-called red black system, which means players double their bet after each spin, greatly increasing their chances of turning a profit.
