Introduction of Riverboat Roulette

Last week Tuesday, April 1st 2014, Golden Gate casino and resort debuted the first version of Riverboat Roulette to feature on American soil. Riverboat roulette is a variation of roulette that allows players to also bet on colors, other than red/black that have been added to the table. Payback on these bets varies between 7/5 and 7/2, arguably increasing the players odds.

New Colors

Blue, purple, teal, yellow, red white and orange. These colors seem strange for the experience roulette player, who are used to seeing just red, black and green. However in the newest variation of roulette these colors play a new role. Players are able to bet on the above 7 colors to add to the bets they make on numbers and neighbors. The colors are arranged next to each other mimicking the neighbor bets that can be made. The white color however cancels all other color bets, unless one bets on white, where the payback is 3/1.

Benefits

Adding the new colors does not change the odds in any way. However it does add the possibility to still make money if all number, even/odd or black/red bets fail. This means that the biggest benefit is that, for novice players, your money seems to last longer. Casinos who have introduced the game claim that Riverboat Roulette is more fun and appeals to a wider range of players than classic roulette.
